A great shot with super fine detail, then I would expect nothing else doing a 112 shot stack! My wife has the same Olympus, and the focus bracketing capability is phenomenal. I have to do all my stacking by hand Sad

Hi there
Fantastic image. May I ask re your focus stacking, do you use a rail? Its been a lot of years since I attempted focus stacking Smile

Thanks for all the kind comments, votes and UAs. Many thanks also to Barry for the ID. Much appreciated. Smile

Barry and Angi,
I have a focus rail which I use with my Canon 5D mk II and MPE-65 lens, and have used it with live insects with good results. You need to get up early to find something which is still cool enough so itís not moving much!

For this, though, I used the Olympus with its 60mm macro lens, which has built in focus bracketing and so does not need a rail. This has the advantage of being much quicker, which is obviously a huge advantage with live subjects. All the shots for this took just under a minute. I then used Zerene Stacker to assemble them, and Photoshop to clean up. Processing takes a while, and thereís a fair bit of trail and error but itís nice when it works.

Hope this helps.

Thank you Steve, yeah that helped, my partner and I were wondering if it was the camera bracketing- itís a great tool in camera - I must look into getting a camera with that function next time I upgrade
