Welcome the Rising Sun

By devlin
I was trying to capture a moment here of someone who was in attitude of waiting / watching for the sun to rise, while i tried to follow ROT as much as possible there were too many people walking in and out of the frame this was the only one i was able to take without any other distractions, the other thought was to take an image with some meaning to it rather than just a normal landscape type image do you think i succeeded ? Exif as below

f/11, 1/30 secs, ISO 100 Aperture priority mode

Two separate images for me, top and bottom of which the top is the better. Your figure drops right into the heavy shadow and largely disappears.

You could try lightening the middle strip with the dodge tool being careful not to over do it and loose contrast?

well this is pretty much where you would be if you wanted to catch sunrise since beyond the fence marks off the property of the Airports Authority of India and as such access is prohibited, the cars are parked on the road dissecting the fence and the entrance to the beach so pretty much your options are limited on this aspect Smile. I guess if you were only interested in the sunrise then it would make sense to move up onto the road and frame from there. My intent though was to create some interest in the shot for which the beach was ideal, though clearly it looks as if i didn't succeed, thanks both for the feedback and comments...

Personally, I think the inclusion of the beach works and I don't find the row of cars too off-putting either, except perhaps, that there are too many of them.
I've uploaded a mod., not much more than an alternative crop really, in which I've made a slight levels adjustment (you could work the levels in this forever, turning out "new" versions), sharpened and straightened it and cropped it (obviouisly)!
Hope it's OK.

Thanks Bren, the mod looks much better than the original Smile
