Welcome to Keukenhof

By TrevBatWCC
Had a very enjoyable few days break in the Netherlands last week, with a mixture of sunshine and rain - luckily we were blessed with sunshine whilst visiting here, the beautiful Keukenhof Gardens, on the first coach trip out. Open for just two months each spring, from mid-March to mid-May, these beautiful gardens contain over 7 million planted bulbs in an area covering 32 hectares (79 acres), with more than 15 km of footpaths to stroll around (didn't do them all!). In addition to the flower fields, the park is home to canals, restaurants, a picnic area, a maze, a playground, and a windmill, providing plenty to see and do. These two images were taken on arriving at the park, heading to the main entrance.
Hope you're all enjoying the Easter break, but how different it is today, back to the wintry weather, and as promised on the weather forecast for today, it's snowing a blizzard! Sad

Many thanks to Lillian and Oliver (bliba) for their User Awards on my previous upload Art of San Giorgio Maggiore , most appreciated Smile

Raw image processed in Adobe Camera Raw, tweaked in Nik Collection's Viveza 2 and Photoshop Elements 14.

Thanks again to everyone for your votes & comments on my previous uploads, it really is appreciated and encouraging Smile

Welcome back, Trev!
You chose the perfect time for a visit, I suspect, and I am certainly looking forward to seeing more from this location. You don't do things by halves, after all!
Here it has been snowing since 9 o'clock; it disappears as soon as you tread on it. Yet on untrodden paths and gardens there are perhaps 2cm accumulated. Full of Easter promise, eh!

Super captures Trev, the version is favourite with its stronger composition (imo).

Went there once for many, many years ago - must have been around 1983? At the time the fields were all in bloom. What a sight it was!

For some reason it's not letting me open the version!
But the lead shot has good content and is a well balanced travelogue shot!
Good work Trev! Isabel GrinGrin
