Welding II

By bromley-smith
Another welding process for you tonight, this is manual arc welding. This time the welder is using welding rods which give off bad fumes, you can see the fumes being sucked up the extractor in a couple of the shots. The last shots show the hot slag which forms on the weld during the process and finally the finished weld.

Many thanks for all your votes and comments on last nights Welding

Looks dangerous to me but your images are spot on - very clear, very colourful, and well detaled.

4 more superb shots, each one beautifully captured under lighting which did not tend to do you any favours or make life easier in any way.

the close up of v3 closely followed by v1 for me. did you have to use welding glass filter to protect the sensor? lesley

I do not normally pick a favourite version as I feel the author is not competing against them selves bur showing the photographic prowess's as just a theme.

BUT - I must pick V1 as this is superb.

Hi Tony a very different subject idea you had here and quite interesting. All very good but was drawn to the colours in V5.

Brilliant captures but I especially like V1.

Many thanks everyone. I know it is something "different" but these are shots I've always wanted to try and take. I realise the difficulty with light etc but I am pleased with the results.
Lesley, I shot straight through the lens to take these shots. I do want to get a shot of a weld in progress and I will have to use some kind of filter. Time to experiment I think.
Neil, yes I remember the bad old days, thankfully things have changed and for the better I must say. Elf and safety is paramount these days.

Excellent work, with light and deep shadows. It looks like an abstract painting. Very artistic.
