Magical Nigel - a superb mono with unusual clouds, lovely contrasts in the middle ground
and those wisps of grass in the snow. Very, very pleasing.

Thought I'd try a mod ( an alternative only, as it has a different feel to yours )

A few adjustments in Levels, and I varied the light a bit with feathered selections and some burning/dodging.

Different to yours, like I said, but I hope you like it.

Many thanks Alan, yes I do like it, adds more drama and indeed a different feel to mine. I had already done a fair bit of work with selections, burning, dodging, levels and sharpening on my version, but your extra work definitely worthwhile.

As for the D810, have been thinking about FF for a while, went to 'look at' a D750 on Saturday but didn't like the close bunching of AF sensors. Hadn't really intended to get one just yet BlushBlush.

Many thanks for your mod, Willie. I like it also, midway in drama between mine and Alan's. I think all three work in different ways.

Didn't realise I had taken so many frames at that point, probably testing the burst rates at home.

That is how winter looks...cold, bleak, grey and monochromatic...wonderfully different from the other seasons. Smile
Wonderful photo. I like the original as well as the options. All give a different feel. Smile

Enjoy the new camera...we are expecting even more of you now Wink and Alan is right...no sense in buying it tomorrow when you can have fun with it today Smile

I bet it's cold out there today Nigel. A superb image displaying how cold and inhospitable the area is.
