West Point, Falkland Islands

By TheURL
Here is a set of photos of a beautiful and remote house on West Point, which is an island off the west coast of West Falkland. The Turkey Vulture in version 2 is a closeup of the one in version 1. So before this turns into a Ronnie Barker monologue I'll leave it there!

Beautiful set Simon. I was going to say 'of a fairly unique landscape' but you can't have degrees of uniqueness I suppose but it does look like the ends of the Earth.

Stunning views the house has. Got lost with Ronnie Barker and Turkey Vultures, though, or was nurse Gladys one? 🙂

@Dave - Smile No it was just the alliteration in what I'd written that reminded me of him!

@Mike - thanks for the UA - a nice Sunday morning surprise. Yes there are similarities in the landscapes of Falkland and Shetland, but the tussock grass is the giveaway.

Another giveaway is the architectural style of the buildings, many here in NZ, well the few which remain, are of a similar construction, and often located at very remote positions, from days of capturing "the right whale".
Neat bit of image to get the whale bone in the first image, not a very large one then.
Cheers Simon, please post more, so my armchair adventures continue, thank you.
