Western Brook Pond - Gros Morne National Park Newfoundland

One from our trip to Newfoundland back in 2015 of Gros Morne capturing Western Brook with a bit of info below :

Western Brook Pond is a fresh water fjord which was carved out by glaciers during the most recent ice age from 25,000 to about 10,000 years ago. Once the glaciers melted, the land, which had been pushed down by the weight of the ice sheet, rebounded and the outlet to the sea was cut off. The 16-kilometre (9.9 mi) long narrow "pond" then filled in with fresh water. The water in the fjord is extremely pure and is assigned the highest purity rating available for natural bodies of water. Pissing Mare Falls, the highest waterfall in eastern North America[6] and 199th highest in the world,[7] flows into Western Brook Pond. Sedimentary rocks, some of them calcareous, underlie the westernmost shores

Oh Wow you have brought back the memories. We climbed Gros Morne when the kids were small and with a black lab. The lab almost didn't make it he was so dehydrated. I had a can of veg in the picnic - corn likely - and opened it so he could drink the water in the can. He so plunged into that lake when we got to it.

Gros Morne and Pissing Mare falls - how many years ago was that. I hope you got Screeched In and met some of the people. A nicer lot you will not find. But they love their Screech, their cod (In Cod we Trust) and their flipper pie. Thank you for this!

Yaws kissed the cod and well and truly Screched in ( that Rum 🤗Wink - we stayed a few nights in StJohn with my cousin ....we stayed overnight in Brighton before going to Gross Marne .......my fathers sister was a War Bride ....her husband served in the RN as it was 👍

Stellar set Vince ....you beat me to it I was in Newfoundland in 1991 . Have always wanted to go back and see Gros Morne . The Vikings settled there long before Chris Columbus ever made it to our shores. Love the detail on that log and the glowing white lupines
in V5.
