Wet 'n' Dry

By Minty805
The farmer's machinery lifts clouds of dust in the field, while behind, the angry sky looks ready to drop some heavy rain. From my vantage point, the rain didn't come, and the sky was made more dramatic by the bright, angled sun, which picked out the lovely spring colours in the trees.
Thank you for the votes and comments on my previous upload, it's always appreciated, and for looking in today.

Beautifully lit landscape Allan, with action by the farmer and the birds.

Spring the time to get the soil ready for planting. The dust it makes looks good in photography. A lovely image.

Very nice lighting, giving a good range of light and shadow, with a dramatic sky.

Envious! I've done a mod, with brightness turned down, and slightly warmer colour balance.

I have the same lens: it's pushed at maximum aperture, but it's also a tricky decision about raising the ISO further, or relying heavily on the camera's IS system...

Thanks John. I like your mod; it looks even more ominous. The warmer colours are nice and may be slightly closer to what I saw.

I tried a couple of later shots at 200 ISO and the shutter speed was fine, nothing the IBIS couldn't handle. To be honest, I would have taken this at 200, but it was a grab shot out of the window as I was getting lunch and I just wanted one in the bag before changing settings. This remained the pick of the bunch for composition.

Like the perspective, looking down on the activity...far better than the more normal view taken from ground level.

A fine composition and capture, Allan, the cloud of dust behind the tractor helps show it's moving, and not parked up in the field 😃👍

Beautiful and nostalgic country view, also it's so good to see the birds in the fields again.
I've been longing for rain for quite a while,..
Look out of the window,... Great, we've got the rain today!
