Wet 'n' Wild

By BillyGoatGruff
Good morning all.

Thanks to everyone who dared to stop by for yesterday's offering. I apprceiate the attention very much.
And thanks also if you've got this far - "death by thumbnail" always lurks to sabotage panoramics!

A stray footprint at the bottom of the frame went unnoticed until I started processing this, which made me reconsider the aspect ratio and the 3:1 panoramic crop was just begging to be released from the original frame. Not only that, I ended up going into monochrome, which seemed very much to suit this subject.

I'm pretty pleased with the result.
Needless to say, LARGE is where the action is!!
(Although it's probably best viewed on a wide screen monitor: no doubt another nail in the coffin! Smile )

Thanks for stopping by,

Thanks very much to all of you!!
It's amazing that only 10 people seem to have so far made it past the thumbnail! Ah, well...

I bet if this was a cute picture of a little puppy or a budgie or similar it'd be overwhelmed with viewings!
Do I care? Nah.

Absolutely superb shot!
The 600pixel version does not do this shot justice, then you open the large version and wham you're awestruck at it's outstanding oomph (if you get what I mean!).

One hell of a shot!

The thumbnail will sadly let this down from a normal reader vote. Hopefully a PA will make up for it. Cracking shot...and must be viewed large!

Agree with Ade and I'd go as far as to say that the lighthouse could do with being straightened Bill, it reminds me of a certain tower in Pisa Wink

Yep, you've echoed a good point made by Ade, and , bizarrely, also echoed something I was discussing with another Paul about lens distortion and things Pisa-like! Albeit after I'd already uploaded this.

I am with Ade on this, the conversion looks really flat on my screen (and yes I can see 16 boxes at the bottom of the screen).
Obviously congrats on the awards, but I really don't think this is your strongest shot, you have so many gems in your PF.

not sure where the comments on "flatness" come from -

if one considers the shot for what is is rather than what folks want it to be ...........

It's a low light shot !!

Given that there is a remarkable degree of contrast - so well done - the shot tells you there aint a lorra light around Smile ... that's part of it's strength!

Yep!.. there is a smell of the mortician in thumbnail - my first thought was ...POW? ... give over !! -- but it springs well to life large - lots of scattered energy around it!!

all IM (most) HO of course Smile
