What are the odds?

By gez_c
Taken whilst on honeymoon in Antigua last summer. I was at lunch with my new wife on a beach terrace with the whale about half a mile out. Hence this photo is a 100% crop at full zoom (300mm). So what are the odds...?

> Last time whales appeared near Galley Bay was 15 years ago.
> This one surfaced with it's baby only 5 or 6 times.
> Only once did it surface inline with the cruise ship.
> The cruise ship leaves once a week.
> I had my camera with me (only once during the whole holiday did I have it with me at lunch).
> I had the right telephoto lens on (1 in 3).

So what are the odds?!! Don't know but I consider myself very lucky and extremely privileged.

Enjoy.

Gez.
