What Fairy Pools?

By Tooth
Taken on the first real day of the Skye meet, after atrocious weather on the way up all day Saturday, Sunday was quite nice but the track to the fairy pools was unpassable except to those in waders or agile as mountain gazelles , due to the bstream being in spate.

Took this one was me and Bic Col started to walk back to the car, so turned out not bad for my first shot of the meet

Thanks for looking, all comments and critique welcome as aways

PS I'll try and link it to the meet page later, having a glitch at the moment

That's a lovely shot mate, your composition is spot on and I like how you've managed to get in more of the mountains as it gives a much better feel of the place. Looks ever so slightly over sharpened, but that might be my monitor. I always tend to selectively sharpen, and normally mask out the water, not sure if you've done that here, but I know you like water to look like water. Wink

That's a real shame that you didn't get up to the pools. But you did well on the way there anyway. I was there in February if I recall and it was OK. I wear wellies to these places, becasuse you can march into rivers and the sea.

Cheers all, glad you like it.'re right, I got a bit lazy with the final sharpen for upload - I normally do it selectively. However, I would sharpen the water a bit if there's movement in it. Marmite stuff, but I like my water to move if it's moving and not be blurred away

@ Dougie - I got back to the pools on Wed AM before I left. Got the boots fully submerged and unfortunately had tp put up with them in the car for the next 3 days, but hey ho Smile
