What paintings....?

By Vambomarbleye
First up, thanks to all of you who took the time to look at, comment and vote on LightplayXI, and especially to Moira, Andy, Bill, Leo, Ken, Malc, Alan, Oliver, Richard, Allan, Keith, Lorenza and Mara, who left their awards.
A break from the Lightplay series, I'm exhausted moving all those columns around.Wink
This was shot at GOMA in Glasgow. Entry to the exhibition space was either stage left or stage right, from behind the "wall" on which the paintings are hung. I just had to wait for "players" to make their entrances and exits. I think the guy in the centre has opening night nerves!

Makes me smile, too. That's quite a collection of characters.
Were you perhaps about to be challenged, I wonder?

Great observation - on your part if not on the part of your subjects!

I absolutely love this. It's coolly objective, analytical. Humanity under the microscope.

I think the people are more interesting than the painting.
And Mr Middle looks like he wants to give you a Glasgow Kiss...

A great image. I would be one of the people walking past. I often visit GOMA when in Glasgow but usually only to use the cafe. The art work leaves me cold.

Wow, I wasn't expecting such a positive response to this, thanks to all. And if you haven't checked out Leo's link, have a look, inspiring.

I love the balance of these, although, like others above, I do wonder what happened next with the shot in the middle.

As I said, visitors had no choice but to enter the space from around the sides of that back "flat", where they were instantly thrown into the spotlight, as it were. I'm not sure whether he noticed me or not, I was a good twenty metres away, in comparative darkness, shooting at 200mm.

People can have strange reactions to art.
