What the naked ...

By bricurtis
What the naked ..... eye cannot see !

A Weevil - found several eating fresh Buddleia shoots.

This monster is about 4mm body length.Smile

Looked liked a bit of dirt until I took a closer look - it's like a mini Anteater.

EDIT. Thanks to * KarenFB * for identifying this as a 'Weevil'

Thanks for stopping by - and special thanks to * davidhu * for his User Award on my previous image.

A beautiful little Weevil! I love the brilliant details you've caught. They are so cute, but very distructive!

Thanks very much for the ID Karen - got my book out again and I can see from the long snout that it is a Weevil.

I've always been impressed by your ability to draw all the lovely details out of these macro shots Brian, but here you have surpassed yourself. Quite staggering in every sense, and well ugly too... Dave

Here's another one I wish was from your paper bag of plastic look alikes Brian. Any thought of Weevils and my foot itches to SQUASH 'EM . It is amazingly sharp and now we know what the little devils look like xxxx Smile
