Some of you will have seen the colour version which I uploaded to the general gallery out of interest. For once I could see the possibilities of a mono version. This is one of several versions.

This works!

I particularly like the eyelashes caught in the light (and perfectly sharp), and the little finger crooked - I missed that in the colour original!

Works either way, to be honest.

I think he spotted me, but there were hundreds of people about and he would assume he was just part of a general image, not singled out like this. Interestingly, I didn't see any DSLR's, not one! Several bridge cameras, a few compacts and a LOT of phones. Not expecting that but shows the way general photography is going.

I know that the SLR still has virtues, and CSCs aren't perfect, but they seem to me to be the way serious togs are heading. Even Canon, belatedly, are hitching up their waggons with a serious CSC body.

Bridge cameras suit people who like zooms, and aren't fanatical about quality, and 'phone easily outgun Instamatics and their successors.

Though I don't have one, and almost certianly won't, Fuji seem to have got things righter than everyone else, so far, in terms of a smooth system - though they didn't hit it straight from the off. Reviews of the XT-2 suggest it's a very rounded high performer.
