This started out as a grab shot. The sun was just setting as I was driving out into the country and I noticed the lovely way that the light was picking up the profile of the crops. Needed some tweaking in PS to balance things up.

Thanks for all the comments. Lesley, that tree was problematic, it was a very dark copper beech, and the cooch grass below it was picking up light from the wheat. I dropped a new dupe layer in there, added a little blur and set it to color then cranked up the saturation, an old trick I have used for a while but still the noise crept in, so, eventually I just left it. Landscape is a new artform for me, my cameras usually point at missing fingers, scar tissue and burns (and you guys wouldnt want to see that), along with a handful of weddings each year. Used to be a photojournalist, so I'm gonna pepper some of that in too, starting midweek. Thanks again to all who have commented.
