Where The Wild Things Are

By MrsS
Good Evening - I hope yet another Monday wasn't too traumatic! Smile

Still on Skye and back to Elgol tonight - I trust that's okay with you.

After we'd paid our respects to JCB, MrS & I wandered back to the water's edge and had a chat with another photographer who was shooting Large Format and would only expose 3 sheets of film per shoot - so, he naturally had lots of time to natter! Good to meet you, Tim! Smile

We were then joined by a minibusful of photographers who were on a tour, and what tour of Skye wouldn't include a trip to Elgol??

So, it then became a challenge to find a spot which wasn't in someone else's shot, or that didn't have another photographer in it. MrS decided that JCB was the way to go, and after a quick scan, I spotted an empty outcrop. Daintily, I picked my way over to it - (careful with the comments, now!) and settled down for the duration. At this point, my wellie had a spectacular malfunction and with a VERY soggy foot, I made my way back to the car - but not until we got just as wet on the outside from the squall you can see over the Cuillins! Good job no-one was taking shots of me trying to scramble over the rocks to shelter at this point - mind you - the 250 from my tv appearance would be very welcome as I now have to purchase new wellies! Tongue

Anyway, I hope you like the image - have a great evening - need to catch up with some marking and at least two episodes of Breaking Bad! Grin

Thanks, as always, for your time
Cheers!

Fran x

Oh - as for the title, the Boss & I have already spotted a dragon's head, a giant's hand and an American Bald Eagle's head in the rocks - so what wild things can you find?????

Fran, it's a great image with a lovely story. I still have my usual problem with "milky" water, but the depth here has paid off well. Oh and I can see a gargoyle face on the right!

Excellent write up and I can even spot those wild things you mention. Quite spookily realistic, if a dragon can be such!! Oh, and a superb image as well.

Dunno where to start with this one Fran, its an incredible shot, and one of my favs over recent weeks.
Certainly something for me to aim for,
Love the contrast of crisp details and smooth water, and the mountains in the background, very well composed image,

Cracking stormy water movement to compliment the half hidden hills and the subtle colouring is so beautifully moody. A very enjoyable write up too! Smile
