This flower was growing everywhere near Cat Ba town. It is quite tall and very attractive.
The island of Cat Ba has got a very rich flora which can be seen in the National Park. Unfortunately I did not have enough time to visit and it was not the right season for lots of flowers. I'll have to go back it seems. Well that's one of my many excuses to go back to Vietnam.

I would be very pleased if you know the name of this flower. I searched Internet but got nowhere.

I took the photos late afternoon (f20 1/60th, flash at 1/16 + natural light, zoom at 70mm, Photofiltre just a touch + crop)

Hoping you will enjoy this break from landscape with these striking flowers and tell me which one you like best. Thank you.

Enjoy your Sunday evening,

This is really really beautiful Jean Noel. I have no idea of the name of the flower but your composition is awesome. I love the colours and the subdued light.

hmmmm! This looks remarkably like a cosmos--- perhaps a version of them-- composition and color -- excellent, as are the details.

The inclusion of the seeds was an excellent clue!
