I rather like this but it is a touch underexposed and there's a large blob near the RHS which I assume is a dust bunny.

I've uploaded a mod. in which I've used threshold curves to adjust the exposure and 'content awared' the blob.

Done using CS6.

Hope this helps.

Thank you Bren, much nicer and sharper. Seeing the comparison helps my appreciation of the art. Thank you again for your time and work.

The shot is nicely composed but can see what a difference that Bren's mod has made to it. Enhances an already lovely shot. Moira

We all miss things at times, I know I do........so a bit of help at times goes a long way. Nice shot.

Nice pic, but compositionally I do find the ship rather too central in the horizontal plane, it gives better viewability when you allow space for your ship to sail into rather than have it as at present. This applies to all moving things, people, cars animals etc. The same applies to the vertical axis, here generally the Rule of Thirds will improve the composition and I feel this is no exception.

I have uploaded a mod where firstly I have removed the 'dust bunny' mentioned by jester, then I applied RoT and also cropped to allow space ahead of the boat as per my comments. I finished by adjusting colour curves and adding an unsharp mask. As the cropping reduced your image below 600 I had to increase its size which gives slight degradation in overall quality.

EXIF shows you used an aperture of f6.3 but for this type of picture, if it is possible f8 or f11 will generally improve the final result. As you used a shutter speed of 1/500sec you can easily use 1/250 and one of the above suggested apertures.

I hope this has helped.

It is a nice shot, and you have a lot of goos feedback above, so will add what may help in addition. When you re size your image for the web, save it, then OPEN it again and check for sharpness; sharpen as needed, and only then upload it. re sizing causes loss of detail.

next, the white boat did cause a little underexposure, and it also appears a little blue, - but it underexposed the entire scen, not just the boat, so all has to be adjusted for brightness and sharpness.

Frank is correct about the composition, - its more of a suggestion these days, but it helps to understand rule of thirds anyway. I have used it in my mod.

Lovely image. On my laptop the colours look deeper (& nicer) in your version and the 3 Mods look very pale; not sure why.

That would be because the original is slightly underexposed. The mods. are not.
