White Ermine-Spilosoma lubricipeda

By Ade_Osman
With it's regal coat of white ermine fur, it's easy to see why this moth is so called.....Very common species and easily found, usually hanging tightly underneath nettle leaves, but the can be found on any of the herbaceous plants if your garden if you look hard enough, which is where I found this one.. Usually on the wing from May through to the end of July and having a wingspan of 35-45mm and a length of approximately 30mm.

Hedgehog News
Busy night again last night Smile We have one staying over in the new nestbox today if you wish to look, although at the moment (06:30) it well buried under the hay, but it should move around a bit during the day.

Quote:Glad to hear the hedgehogs are doing well

I can't say too much at the moment as nothing is as yet cast in stone......However, I have been speaking to a production company who work on behalf of the BBC this very morning and who are interested in the Hedgehogs and what we (me & the wife) do as a nature fanatics.....

Can't and don't want to say any more than this really in case it doesn't come off, but as you might imagine it's all very exciting, as the say.....'Watch this space' Smile
