White II

By chase
Well, I did warn you Wink
Slightly different composition this time to include more of the table.
Still a texture added to the bg but marginally darker.
I wanted more of the grey tones on this one but not forgetting the shadows to ground the subjects and to show the shape of the table.

i was very surprised to see just how many shades of white there are on different objects.

Single Raw file converted in Lightroom, levels adjusted and texture added in Photoshop.

Thanks for dropping by.
Constructive critique and mods welcome.
Stay safe, be happy.

I like this one even better. I prefer the composition and think the texture makes it into a wall-worthy picture Smile

I didn't comment on yesterday's my apologies - inertia is setting in big time here. I do prefer yesterday's, for various reasons. It has a clean simplicity, the texture layer seems to be gilding the lily although subtly done; the flower petals in particular are disadvantaged by it, I think. And the billowing wave of cloth on the right yesterday is more satisfying to my eye than the corner fold on the left here.
There is also a hint of shadow below the saucer in yesterday's which supports it - here the saucer seems to be floating in space.
An interesting exercise, it has made my brain work for a bit... Smile

I like this even more than the first. The slightly darker tones allow the details to stand out without loosing the light overall effect.
White is truly an amazing color once one delves the depths of it.

Another fine set up and capture, Janet 😃 Think I slightly prefer this of the two, has a little more definition to it👍

Thanks everyone.
Joline, lovely to have your UA, many thanks.

I like both images, yesterdays and todays with no particular preference tbh, I would probably print them both out together with a third one and hang them on the wall as a set...yes, there is a third one to come, quite different though Wink

Delicate whites. I cant shake the feeling that the jug is very slightly off level compared to pot and cup! Ill have to check my chair...

I have to go check back with yesterdays. I know I loved it and I'm thinking from memory I may like yesterdays best. But this is still beautiful.

It's the crisp clean whites in yesterdays and how the daisies are arranged. Yesterdays definitely for me. It's very high key but still pops.

I prefer yesterday's, Janet - the light and the arrangement without the distracting table corner appeals more.
Just my opinion - others are available.GrinGrin

Like both of them very much, but if I have to choose it would be yesterday's - hard to give a precise reason...
Excellent !
