I like both shots Herman. I wonder if I'd get away with planting. Poinsettia in Spain. Must ask the gardener.

Morning Herman, what a difference it is to experience winter in Durban, so nice and warm.
A great capture Herman, you don't often see the white ones as much as the red. Loving your quotes everydayGrinGrin

Like Carol, I too was visualising a small plant and I don't think I have come across a white one before. All I know about Poinsettia is that once the red leaves have gone; if you keep them in a dark place, the red leaves will come back for next year, but sadly most people just through them away.................... In the UK they are a house plant, that's why I know a little bit.

You have two friends in V1...................... two magic images and once again you have taught me something.

I much prefer the pale lemon poinsettias to the red ones, Herman, so different and a much more gentle colour. V.1 shows it off so well, and V.2 gives an excellent idea of how large these plants can grow. Carol

Lovely image, Herman. It's the first time that I see them grow so tall. Thanks for putting V2 on.
Here, in the south of Russia, it is called "Christmas Star"Smile
...in passing one more thought about friendship, Herman: A bad friend is like a shadow - on a sunny day he is constantly with you, and he disappears immediately as soon as a cloudy day has come...Smile

Not so sure these poinsettias would work as houseplants in my home, Herman GrinGrin An unusual colour for me.

I like the criss cross effect of the leaves, it creates a nice pattern while the fly adds an extra focal point. The greens are so muted and the image all about pattern so I imagine you could make a fine mono conversion out of this. Smile

Hi Herman, two nice shots, we dont get these as big as yours, at Christmas the shops are full of them her but only as pot plants for inside your house. And they are very difficult to keep, every one i have had has died within a few weeks

Love the quote, Herman, and haven't seen a 'white' poinsettia before and it looks good, insects always add interest - my red Christmas poinsettia is finally on its last legs, cannot keep them for love nor money Wink ... Carol Grin

Great bushes & great to see them growing naturally.
In the UK we only see them in pots, imported for the Christmas period
