Echo Adrian's comment about the rhino's interest in the bird- perhaps along the lines of 'wonder if that tastes nice?'. Also like the dof, just enough, just right. Just had a peek at the other safari shots you've uploaded, nice.

Any advice you can offer about safari trips would be appreciated since I'll be off to Kenya on a working trip soon and hope to get away for a day out here and there.

Thanks for the comments everyone. More safari pics to follow! col.campbell - as for advice on safari trips, this specific pic was taken on a late afternoon game drive from Sweetwaters tented camp, however the actual 'campsite' has a watering hole where giraffes & zebras come to drink - could sit and watch for ages! The other places we visited were Samburu (best I found for close-up/large herds of elephants, reticulated giraffe, oryx & gerenooks) and the Masai Mara (by far the best for lions & lionnesses & cheetahs).
