White Tail

After a couple of hefty showers lots of insects came out to feed - looking at my Hebe Gebe I noticed several 'flies'. This is a Volucella bombylans, a hover fly which mimics bumble-bees (there are two main varieties, the red and white tailed - this is a white tailed version!). Smile
