Whitey

By pamelajean
Inspired by Mollycatís albino squirrel, I thought you might like to see an albino coot chick that I named Whitey (very original).
Every day when I passed by the lake, I would look out for him and hope he was ok.
Mum fed him the same as her other two normal chicks and she would let him cuddle up to her for warmth.
I felt that he was vulnerable, and sadly it wasnít long before he disappeared, never to be seen again.
A sad tale, but I have these pictures to remind me of my little friend.

2 versions. One of mum with her three chicks, one of Whitey on his own.

Pamela.
