Whooper Swan

By bmh1
Another from my last visit to Whipsnade, the afternoon seemed to be official nap time for a lot of the animals.

This swan was asleep in one of the enclosures for grazing animals, but just opened one eye to look at me as I went past.

(Having mis-identified another bird recently I'm fairly confident this is a Whooper Swan, from the shape of the yellow areas on the beak of it's partner which was nearby)

(f/5.6, ISO 100, 1/1000 sec)
