Bournemouth under moonlight. taken from the pier, made to look like it was at night. How do you make photo's look like they have been taken under moonlight?

Louise - to answer your question - rather like you seem to have done with this: underexpose (or darken in processing), and use tungsten light colour balance (or adjust colour temperature in processing).

However, it is quite hard to know what exactly you've done right (though you have!) because there's not much in the way of EXIF data.

I'm going to upload a mod using Levels to darken the midtones and shadows further by shifting hte midtone and shadow input sliders to the right. I'm also going to use the burn tool to darken the sky (which looks more like twilight than full night).

I think, then, you've got as good a night effect as an awful lot of films and TV programmes do.

Nice work!

Thanks very much, I did put the EXIF date, perhaps it didn't show properly. I took this in Bournemouth, not one of my best shots. I have a sunset shot which i will post tomorrow. Smile
