Wild Garlic on the Dales Way

This June my walking friend and I walked the Dales Way, accompanied for most of the way by stunning fields of wild flowers; Yorkshire has a policy about keeping their fields fallow, for now, so it made for great colours in many of the fields we walked through. The garlic was mostly in the fields beside the River Wharfe.

I can imagine the scent. I walked the Offas Dyke path one spring and it was everywhere - just glorious!

A beautiful show of wild garlic blooms. I love to see these. Last year I gathered seeds from our park and I think some have come up in my garden, but they bloom later here, so I'll have to wait and see.
