Wild pear tree belongs to the family of Rosaceae. It grows mostly in glades of forest, in fields sides and sometimes next to roads. Wild pear tree or sage-leafed pear or “gortsia” as it called in some regions of Greece, is an ancient Greek tree which still today can be grafted and produce beautiful and tasted pears. Leaf are always green upside and bluish downside. Blossoms are white.
Wild pear tree has hemostatic attribute and it was also used against infections of respiratory system.
