Wind Swept

By ErictheViking
This is an image taken from a test film shot to test renewed light seals on a Canon AE-1.

As this is one of the first images shot on film for quite sometime, I'd appreciate comments.

Image only adjusted for even Histogram spread otherwise as from camera.

What to say, Eric. Light seals OK but not overly keen on the subject. Needs lots more contrast and impact, but even then, not terribly pretty. scan looks OK, though.

Hi Eric

Here's a mod.
Just fooled around with the tones, using selections. A teeny tiny touch of sepia just to warm the blacks, and a crop.
Just a bit of fun, hope you like it a little bit.

Hi Alan

Thanks for the mod, I always like seeing peoples views and interpretations. I like the tones you came up my shot is straight out of the camera as it was a test and I think if I process it I may be looking at something similar to your mod.

Which bit of County Durham do you live? As you might have guessed from previous posts on Rods upload I used to live in Hartlepool for a while.

Thanks Erik, glad you liked it. Maybe I overdid the contrast a bit, but I think I got the sky down OK. I've only got PSE10, and I'm no whizz-kid.

I live in Spennymoor, that's about 7 miles south of Durham. Not exactly a 'Honey Pot,' but surrounded by woodland, farmland, and well placed for access to good places.
Where do you guys hang yer sporrans? I think Rod lowers the tone around Kircaldy? That right?

Ye Rods in Kirkcaldy, but I'm in Wick (near John O Groats). I was born and brought up not far from Rod in a mining village so know the area well. Been through Spennymoor a few times, but left the area in 2006.

Wick !! ...Bugger me thats practically scandinavia. Explains the name. If you've been through Spenny a few times its no wonder you buggered off as far north as you could get and still keep your feet dry. Well.... dry-ish.Grin
Good to hear from you
