Award Shortlist

My daughter gave me one of those packages with a bowl, compost and bulbs of Paperwhite Narcissus a few weeks before Christmas. Though I love them, I have always found they grow too leggy if started off in the house so this time I popped them into the greenhouse with far better results. They then came indoors and remained on the computer room windowsill for several weeks. I tried more times than I can remember to capture an image of them but eventually kept just this one which I think works quite well. The reflection is in the glass of the window as I took this late at night, regardless of what it says in Exif!

A special thanks to cannonfan, Brian 65, Growmore and pamelajean for those very special UAs. To all who looked in and left votes/comments. many thanks too. Your encouragement is very important and greatly appreciated.

I tried that method of using the window at night for a reflection also, Ann: these are rather attractive mulfiheaded narcissi and you have made a fine job in capturing this shot.

21 Jan 2013 1:39PM have shot these beauties well, Ann. They look like they smell wonderful. Do they? Sigh...I miss spring. I remember getting one of these sorta kits at Wilko's. In the box there was potting mix, a pot and nice fat Amaryllis bulb. It went up on my windowsill in Leeds. Come spring, wowww...large red flowers facing different directions like loudspeakers. I was SO thrilled Smile
