Winter camping

By RodStrachan
A pyramid tent can be quite a pleasant place to stay... even during the Antarctic winter. Soon after taking this image the sun disappeared below the horizon and the temperature plummeted. I dived into the tent, had a mug of hot tea and warmed my frozen digits up! Location: Adelaide Island, Antarctic Peninsula.

A really striking image captured under severe conditions: the tent stands out starkly and in solitude in that expanse of White.

Looks a bit chilly and not so inviting. Great contrast with the warm red colours agains the cold snow
