Winter Gold

By angelamary
Well... okay, it was last Autumn, but it's been waiting ever since then for the right moment!

Saw there was a beautiful sunrise and decided to walk over the hill to 'get' it... only too many poles and wires in the way, so I walked a little further... Too many roofs and wires... a little further... and the clouds had gone, nothing intresting to shoot!

Nothing to lose, walked a little further and found this childrens park. A nightmare to get straight... but I think it is... judged vertical by the swing chains (council workmen no help the poles are all crooked!) and the horizon barely visible (a low cloud bank doesn't help)... so please excuse if you think it's off... and then tell me why you're surprised!

Well the houses all seem to have upright walls, so I reckon you've got it right. Nice light on the sea and sky.

I'll be honest Angela, it would have been even better without the childrens park! But considering the walk you had to get this, it is a lovely view out beyond. It must have been late Autumm (early Winter) there are no leaves on the trees. I can't wait to see some of the views from around your new house.

Lovely shot, still some nice colour in the sky and a lovely scene beyond the park.

Nice one.

To be honest, it was the only place you could get the view! Step forward to miss the park and you lost Torquay on the left, and the sky was so bland, you would've had no focal point... besides, I rather liked the idea of children playing on such odd equipement? The view from the top of the slide must've rather scary, and the swings were high before they went very far, on that slope!
