Winter Journey

By maryg
Thanks for your comment on the twilight shot. Tonight's shot was taken about 5 minutes after the red twilight image after most of the light had gone but there was still a lot of detail in the sky. It shows movement blur and I feel it creates a sense of journeying through time. I panned slowly across the scene to get this effect ( tried panning vertically before in the forest so thought I'd do similar but horizontally, if you see what I mean)It does appeal to me but I won't be offended if it gets a lot of adverse criticism. All helpful crits are always welcome. As I've said before it all adds to that great big learning curve.
Regards Mary

Nothing wrong with this work it as the wonderful effect of speed may be looking out of a high speed train window, superb work. Gary

What a great image ! the overall effect....looks to me like a gale-force wind ?.....I've done a bit of a mod. to try & induce a touch of extra 'movement' to that gale, & added a thin black border....regards...Nn.

Hi Mary

That shot really grabbed me when I first viewed it, it's a great use of different technique and the results that can come from experimenting.
A shot I would have been proud to have taken.

I love this image, great mood and really says winter journey. I am bit confused on how you achieved this, I've done similar myself but I can't understand how the tree and fenceline havn't got the same panning effect as the rest of the shot.Or am I being dumb?
Wonderful shot.

Damn! I thought you were going to let me into the secret so I could do the same. I will have to keep experimenting. Well done Mary.

This is extremely effective, how clever of you. The panning suits the scene beautifully.
