Winter Light

By martin.w
Carrying on the winter theme from yesterday, but this time with rather more light.....and snow! I was out first thing this morning, but just as I arrived at the car park at Curbar (slippy roads again!), it all went dark and a cloud burst of snow dropped out of the sky.

It eventually brightened up for a walk along the edges, this taken with my back to Froggatt Edge Smile

Lovely conditions to be out. Love the colour of the lit bracken against the snow.

I think the snow's more effectively complemented by the dark sky than it would have been by a blue one. And I love the stretch of light on the distant slopes.

Truying to work out where we are Martin. Is it the path up past Swine Sty onto White Edge?

Nice light and great brooding sky.

Great light, colours and drama in the sky Martin. The snow has missed us so far in Northamptonshire.

on sunday morning i am hoping for an inversion, glowing sunrise, snow on the ground, hoarfrost, cobwebs glistening, sleigh bells ringing, but midsummer temperature with a mackeral sky. i wonder!!
this sure makes you feel winter is here.

It is White Edge Graham, but not sure about Swine Sty. I followed a path up here away from the edges from a point where Curbar and Froggatt meet.

Thanks folks Smile
