I like both versions, Alfie. The colour is spot-on as a representation of a sunless January day - the sky is not featureless, a nice touch - but the b&w chimes better with the sad tone of your intro.

Both versions work for me, but prefer colour as the background tones contribute to depth of the image. Foreground logs provide lead-in to image

A bit big for my log burner fire! I think the colour version is my preference, as the log colours, brightens up the bare landscape.
