Winter Pines and Earth Shadow

By hwatt
Typical isnít it. Iíve waited nearly a decade for something more than a few odd flakes of snow to fall in Scotland and now I am inundated with the stuff, shame weíre barely allowed out of the front door without a World War II gas mask and a full Hazmat suit. I get it, I really do, but itís no less infuriating. This evening it snowed yet again for the umpty first time this year so I ventured out a couple of miles stealthily avoiding anyone else mad enough to get some fresh air and exercise and came across this delicious snow covered pathway through snow spattered pines with pink earth shadow light filtering through between the regimented tree trunks a few minutes after sunset. Just gorgeous, a tonic for my diminishing sanity and the unpleasant monotony of watching the Covid death toll accumulator rolling ever higher like a sadistic jackpot winnings counter in a Las Vegas casino.
