Winter Woodland

15 images from February jaunts in Hirst Woods. My objective was to capture some Winter shots before the character of the wood changes with the onset of Spring. Some were taken in typically wintry, icy, misty, blue light. Others were taken during that lovely, uncharacteristically warm spell with lovely golden sunlight.

I chose the opener because it has some lovely shadows to fit with the Saturday brief.The others are there to show the lovely colours, textures and sculptural forms that Ansel and I are privileged to enjoy on our doorstep and to showcase the fun that the many users have there.

Ansel is a super subject but my favourite in this set is V4. Who would think there is so much colour and texture in a log!

A fine set recording so many features of this winter woodland and the activity that can be found there. Ansel was obviously having a whale of a time. And I am so pleased you found an example of a bracket fungus too........I spent hours summer and winter trawling through our local woods hunting down such.

you have captured in most the key elements of a good photograph , line , shape ,form ,some wonderful textures , colour.
