Wire we Here

By Irishkate
LynneJoyce gave us a challenge after I uploaded an image recently in which I kept
the electricity wires. Normally I'd clone or use the healing brush to get rid of them all!
I didn't have time nor inspiration for this challenge so I'm using this image from Santorini
one of the most beautiful places I've been to but this particular area was spoiled by wires
everywhere. I'll upload another of a fence at the Birks of Aberfeldy which caught my eye a few months ago. I'll look forward to seeing what the others participants have conjured up.
Glad you all enjoyed my Chocolate Room Abstract - some great comments and two excellent mods from digital-boi (Graham).

P.S. I could easily have removed the top right wire but left it in for the purpose of this exercise!

Love these Mediterranean colours, Kate, and I too wish I was there: the cables are really just part of the overall scene here and I feel that any attempt to remove them would lose a good bit of it's ambience and inherent character, although having said that I might be tempted to do so with that single strand across the top right corner.........it doesn't really serve any purpose in the shot. That would be a relatively easy exercise.
And I like your composition here and the verticals precisely so.

Santorini is a place we always wanted to visit, too hilly unfortunately. Like your picture Kate, and my view is the same, just clone out the cable on the right.

V1 is a wonderful image, and I also agree about the line in the upper right. The other do not bother me, Kate.

The masterful elegance of design is so strong that it easily overpowers the cables. The two blues and the graduated sky are very pleasing. TG

wires create a lot of disturbance for photographers.. we see a historical monument before us and we are all excited.. but then we see a wire runs across it in the middle.. however here, the architecture is so beautiful that it still wins..

The wiring in Greece leaves a lot to be desired, Kate, I've spotted many a photo opportunity ruined by the criss-crossing of cables everywhere Smile Love V.1, Santorini is such a beautiful island. Carol

Great light Kate really like V1, as Ronnie suggested remove the wire top right of the image, v2 like the way your eye follows the fence up over the hillock to where?Smile

I don't think I would have taken the photo to start with
Wires just don't look nice especially in the viewfinder.
We all approach photography in our own way...and my enjoyment is in that eyepiece at the back of the camera

It seems that the Mediterranean is littered with wires! Thanks for joining in Kate.

Lovely shot Kate and I see what you mean about the wires spoiling the shot. Dodgy wiring seems to be a feature of old European towns.

yes wires are for sure a right pain in the neck always spoil some shots the lower one I don't mind the top right one should be cloned...... still a fine Mediterranean capture with the typical blues and whites very catching to the eye Kate

With a little application, Kate, you could probably edit out that Church thing for a better wire picture.
Good quality as always.
3 beauties but I really like no 2

Heck, Kate, you could rub out all the buildings - and just leave the wires in..?!
Isn't that "Wire We Here"..???
You could have a problem, when it comes to those trees, though...!
Leave the manequin in, though, she looks like she's been eating bisquits and all the crumbs have fallen down onto her 'nearly' skirt...
Great fun shots, showing it how it really is, for once.
Hat's off to you, for celebrating wires so well Grin

Whatever happened to the wireless age?

Regards Nathan GrinGrinGrin
I would get rid of the right hand side wire without losing any of the picture. That would make it better.
Well done Kate.

Kate -- very nice series of images.
V1 made me smile because the tutorial that I watched on how to remove wires using Photoshop utilized an image of Santorini as an example image file.
Your shot here brings back fond memories of the trip Sue and I took not long ago. What a beautiful island.
I like your V3 as well. The ubiquitous wire shopping carts are a perfect subject for inclusion in our Wire We Here -- but it took you to notice that. Nicely done.
