Wire We Here

By ChiliMan
To clone or not to clone?

Sheep aside, let's talk 'photogenetics'. Specifically, the cloning out of wires/lamp posts/pylons which happen to be standing there enjoying the same sunset I am.

Would some scenes/moments look much better without 'em? Certainly. But would I forego grabbing a sunset or cloudscape just 'cos of some wires and stuff? No. Would I then spend 2 hours cloning out said stuff? Nooo.

Here are my contributions to 'Wire We Here' - a collaborative effort conceived by LynneJoyce, titled by Walter (gajewski), with annettep38, Irishkate, SimonFletch, GarrathE and myself riding alongside as we head off into the wiry sunset. Yee-HAW!

PS Not easy to find overhead wires in Singapore now (which suits me juuust fine) but what're always in shots are street lights. Or trees. Always always always.

Incredible looking skies Andrew, especially the night shots. Me, I would keep the wires in. Mainly if I attempted to clone them out I would probable bog it up.

The wires are easy on the eyes here, those sun sets are magnificent!

They're a part of our world. Life ain't a chocolate-box lid... I rather like the strength of the lines in V1.
Perfect exposure for the sunset, that's the important thing.

Some beautiful skies here, Andrew, but I am not a lover of electric wires at all. I see a glorious sunset every evening from my verandah, but its beauty is marred by strings of electricity cables and crooked poles Sad Carol

Very impressive skies in this lovely set Andrew, such a change from the relentless grey we have here at the moment.

No need to ask for my opinion on wires Andrew, I am all for keeping them in, even making a feature of them as we have done today. I have, in the past, spent hours cloning them out (a b*gger of a job) but as Moira says, life isn't a chocolate box lid and wires are a part of the scene. Sometimes they can even be the main feature.

I love these dramatic skies -- this series is a great contribution to our little excessive in exploring wires in our environment.

well I think the wires spoil that beautiful sky...
But as I said to Moira I would never had taken that sky with the wires in the viewfinder
It all depends on what you are photograhing to me.
For me I would just move around till I only had the sky without those distracting wires
Each to his own I say

Wonderful skies and blimey, you are short of wires? Really? What about trains and stuff?
And yes, I love how you place those wires in the sunset. Cause it gives us all something to talk about. I am far too lazy to clone much these days, I spent 10 hours at work and some more doing other stuff.. I rather take photos than clone Smile
Not sure Andrew. If I tried to clone I'd be like Peter (Mollycat) but I also agree with the above comments. Love the colours of the night shots. Cathy

I hear you about lamp posts! Some of the best vantage points for sunsets near our Spanish home are beset with them.

Your wires are quite modest compared with some of today's uploads!
V3 is actually a very appealing image.
I's been an interesting exercise and I would normally clone wires out but
in the future, I'll look for images where they can be a feature.

But without those you'd have no internet and you'd have to find something else to occupy your time as you are on here virtually 24/7!WinkGrinTongue
