Wish in the Wind is the image of a young girl that wishes for something to change her isolated life. She feels alone surrounded by the old barren isolation of lost generations.
I love this image because her expression is so delicate. I love her over coat and even though she has this wonderful dress on, she looks so tatty and weathered.
The background is Whitby Church as most people would guess, although I removed a few graves to make it less cluttered. My latest train of thought is 'less is more'. The young girl was wearing a slightly different outfit (I'll add some more versions), but I wanted to give a romantic feeling to her with the long skirts. Of course the most interesting part of the development is the bending of the tones and light of the pixels. There is about 30 layers just on tone and light for this image, I do like to push my pixels and then rescue them just as they are about to breakup.
I'm off to Yardley exhibition tonight, just been to Leigh to see the Best of British Club Photography with my dearest friend 'Morris'. It is good to have an open mind and enjoy all genres of photography. So on that note, enjoy your weekend and think about the 'less is more'.
