Wish Upon a Star

By beckas
I decided to edit a couple of simple headshots from the archives yesterday. This is one of the first models that I shot with, about two years ago.

I will be the first to admit that I am not the best "shooter" and that I don't always get the lighting right, so as I result I sometimes spend more time in Photoshop as a result. I don't usually post before and after images, but I thought that I would this time around to show the processing.

I suffer from PCD....Photoshop Compulsive Disorder, LOL!

Like V1 Beckas and its good to see the before and after in these.
Might be worth check V2 again as to me it looks as if the skin has got a slightly green tones, that may be what you wanted but not sure.
Good head shots all the same.

Beautiful set of shots !.....but I find V2 has some 'indefinable' quality about it ?, that for me makes it an absolute stunner !!!!!!!!

Loving them. Really striking. Time well spent.

Think your processing has worked a treat, but must admit I am quite happy with the original in v4 - at least from the perspective of the face.

This is interesting, and it shows just how far you've come in two years, I reckon.

The most interesting thing, for me, is that this has far less of a "Beckas" look than most of your work: apart from the initial styling (the stars are a brilliant idea) and the star reflection in the model's eye, this looks far more like a standard PS job than your wonderful recent creations.

For me, V1 edges it over V2, because of the starry parts. I like the tonal effect in V2, but there's relatively little that lifts it as a definitive shot of yours. And it's that developed styling eye, and making PS a servant instead of a master (as it is for so many people) that singles you out from a crowd of far lesser photographers.

Both destination and journey are worthy!

Wow...good work, Rebekah. I love V1's manip over the original but I'm not sure about V2. The shade is what bothers me. It doesn't seem too lifelike. Unless that is what you were going for in which case, my bad.

I love the Before and After juxtapositioning, though.
