Wistman's Wood

By blohum
Another day, another location that can be crossed of my photographic hit-list! ..Wistmanís Wood is located in the heart of Dartmoor and forms one of only three remote high-altitude oakwoods to remain there. The oldest Oaks are believed to be around 400-500 years old while the name is derived from the dialect word 'wisht' meaning 'eerie/uncanny', itís quite easy to see why!..Unfortunately it also seems that my favourite lens, the Olympus 9-18mm will have to take a trip back for servicing, trying to use auto-focus on anything greater than 14mm is making some strange noises... hereís hoping for a quick turnaround.

Thank for the comments everyone! Smile

It's definitely worth a visit Miguel... the Two Bridges Inn is nice, in the middle of the moors and about as close as you can get to the woods in a car anyway!
