Wolsley 1500

By jacomes
A classic car from the 50's/60's at a house in Highams Park, the owner apparently has others in the garage. Colour and B&W versions.
Just found my note: this is a 1958 Series 1 car, apparently they used the Morris Minor floor pan and other parts, which helped the roadholding.

Thanks for your votes and comments on Guardian Angel yesterday, much appreciated. Quite common in Portugal these plaques (usually much less ornate) are a plea to the angel or local saint to look after the house and its inhabitants, rather then to commemorate a past event

Nice cars they were, walnut dashboard and all. The days of solid motoring. Good to see this.

I first learned to drive (on farm tracks) in a 1959 Riley One-Point-Five, which was a slightly up-market Wolseley 1500 with a different grille and badging and twin carburettors. Riley won the British Touring Car Championship in '58 or '59, I believe. The Mk 2 was distinguished by more chrome around the front; I don't remember if the Wolseley suffered similarly.

That's nearly as old as me! 😁 A fine-looking motor, James, rather favouring mono 😃👍
