I like the perspective you have chosen for this shot. I think I am correct in saying that the Woollis stores carried the advert as the 3 pence and Six pence store.

I like this on two levels, one is the angle and the clarity of the shot, the other is I had a Saturday job in my local Woolworths when I was at college.

Actually there are Woolworth stores here in Oz but they are food stores.

I am nearly in tears here.
I worked in Woolworth store in Pwllheli for 11 yrs,and they were a verry happy 11 yrs when I met so many people.
And yes the Pick'n mix was verry popular,

Ah yes, those were the days! The very first single record I bought was on the Embassy label and from Woolworths in Leeds! Wink Like the angle and viewpoint, and that lamp-post is very conveniently placed too! Smile

Definitely a rarity here Richard, and many memories, a great loss to the UK high street and no more Saturday jobs for youngsters taking their first steps towards employment. Nicely preserved!!!!

I remember buying those pick and mix sweets as a kid and records from there but never knew that Woollies existed in Germany! C&A are another blast from the past, you can still find them in Europe but they disappeared off the British high street around ten years ago
