A well composed image with lovely vertical verticals, Nathan!
I really like both versions but, V1 in mono wins the day(albeit a bit early!!) for me!
I'm slowly becoming a fan of b/w!!
Regards,
Richard

Sometimes mono is the best way to go, but i did not notice the shadows until I saw the color--

Thanks for your comment on OUCH!

It has to win my approval for this alone!

Seriously, A nicely composed image with good depth. I would prefer much more contrast in the B&W version (I tried it and it worked for me) and in the colour version the colour of the sea and sky look over saturated to me and tend to dominate the image.

V2 for me, I think the high levels of saturation suit the seaside setting.

Two great shadow images, Nathan, but I like the colour original better as like to see the lovely colours of the sea and sky. Hope you have a great time together with Julie, Katie and Christopher.

Colour, by a mile, Nathan, that's a photographer's ideal blue sky, perfectly broken up.
Great title, the empty resort, bracing itself for Summer.

V1 for the lines and the shadows. It's a very satisfying composition, using portrait as it works best, leading the eye from an interesting foreground to a satisfying horizon. That happens better for me in b&w. But both versions look underexposed, I want to add more brightness. In V1 the clouds, waves and white paintwork look drab and dingy, I want to bring them to life.

Looks a lovely spot to sit and have a drink and ponder! Smile Think the brighter versions in V3 & V4 work better, with the colour version being the winner for me Wink

Great shadows you've got here!

For the mono, I prefer V4 over V1...and for the colour, V2 over V3. The colours are richer and deeper in V2. Cosier too.
