My great inspiration for pet portraits is Traer Scott, and also some of Rachel Hale's black and white shallow DOF stuff. Luckily I have the most handsome model to practice on.

Forgot to say, this was actually initially converted to B&W using filtered B&W in picasa, then resized and sharpened in PS.

Great image. I don't think it would have looked as effective in colour. Say "cheese"!!!
