This couple hardly moved for ages....a veritable tableaux in fact....they did nod a greeting when I caught their eyes.

What makes the shot a little more interesting is the badly pock -marked sandstone of Coventry Council House behind them.....evidence still remains of the incredible damage done in that area during the Blitz of 1940- 41....the old Coventry Cathedral, very close by was raised to the ground except for its magnificent spire.

I remember as a child walking among the ruins of shops and offices, most with water filled cellars with signs saying.....WATER FOR EMERGENCY USE ONLY....very different times indeed.

At least their posters invite communication. We don't even get that message locally. I understand that it's about standing there, bearing witness, nothing else is required.
Locally, the JWs bear witness outside the local supermarket. They stand there impassively while volunteers are picking litter, pruning the town's shrubs, collecting for the Food Bank. I want to say 'Couldn't you bear witness by actually doing something useful?' But I've never dared.

They come with a message, but who really knows what the answer is...
This morning whilst in the middle of getting ready to go out amidst the cacophony of two dogs getting over excited me half and half out of the bathroom somebody started banging on the front door.
Karel at that point not in the best of tempers open the door to be greeted by a JW Iím not quite sure what K said but he dident hang about.
Karel and I are very polite and patient folk but it really tests us on occasions such as this morning.

Superb image
