Hi folks,

Back to kitty pics....Grin Again...

First up I should explain that this image was taken about 8 months ago, The light was pretty dismal, I was using my Nikon 70-300mm VR @ 300mm, Aperture wide open at ISO 800, Plus I was a long way off and this little action caught me unprepared, Hence this is quite a heavy crop from the original frame....!

So all in all it was at best a grab shot, Not technically brilliant, No super clever tricks or expensive lens involved, Processing wise again pretty basic, A heavy crop some levels adjustment, Slight sharpening selectively, Chopped down to upload size.

To be honest the reason its been around is that I have a folder for images that are destined for the " Bin ", Unless they can be made use of with a little effort, Periodically I visit the " Might Be Binned " folder and dump a few, If I'm in the mood I sometimes try working one or two through the software, Just to see if something can be pulled from the wreckage....!!!

Whatever, This image kept surviving the " Delete " button.....Smile

So here he is, My loverly little kitty " Ziggy " I like the movement of the paws captured in motion rather than pin sharp, The open mouth showing those pearly white teeth, The overall expression of ferocity, Such things are normally so fleeting that our human eye/brain mechanism fails to notice or record such details.

The strange thing is that Ziggy is a big old softee by nature, Quite the opposite to that conveyed above, But maybe thats why cats are such great survivors around the world, Despite our human presence, They can live with us, Or without us, Cats will we ever understand them....? ? ?

Ramble over.....Wink

I love studying cats' behaviour. I live in a place where most of the cats are feral/semi-feral and 'entire'. There is quite a difference between them and pampered pets. Lots more drama and lots of distress. Ziggy is great, I'm particularly fond of black cats.

Cheers folks one and all,

The good old moggie has been around man/womans camp for so long we tend to take them for granted, I am constantly amazed by some of the things they do or how they react to new or threatening situations, I'm going to make a point of having a camera ready when I'm studying them, Something I always mean to do, But tend to forget some days....Smile

Cheers Richard, Your right I am glad it did not get binned, Certainly worth working on.....Smile

Regards
Vince

LOL....A tip to cat snappers, It helps greatly if you have some help from another person, Who " Pokes " your puddy tat with a twig, Thus causing the reaction above.....Grin
