    Wireless Flash Trigger set

I've just purchased 2 Yongnuo Digital RF-603N wireless flash trigger sets from Amazon for about 50. You get 2 transceivers in each box. Each takes 2 AAA batteries. So for those not up to speed with their arithmetic that's 4 transceivers. They work...

    Photo 365 - Number 145 - Anemone again......

Friday night is Karate night so I get no time to settle down with the camera. Happily the Anemones are still looking good so a quick two minutes, a blast of Lucis whyeth and a quick texture will do the job :)

    Not So Awesome

There are many smartphone apps to help you process your images on your phone and make them more interesting without transferring them to a desktop or laptop computer. I've tried out a few, and some are really nice. There are some silly and not terrib...

    The inevitable

How awful is it when your friend dies? True friends are such a rarity. My friend died today. Peter Allen, FIND YOUR BIT OF UNIVERSE and Other Poems. A very special man. I lift my glass of raki. Bless you.

Photo 365 - Number 144 - Eyes would be good!

One of the pics from this evening's session with the twiggy head-dress. I decided the only way to have the mask looking right was to do a composite - take a few shots with my eyes showing and my chin sticking out from below the mask and then a few...

    Focus on Imaging 2012

I went on Sunday...not the best choice really! Rip off Britain once again...8 to park:( Where do they think we'll park? They've got a captive audience here & boy do they know it. I wanted to go back on Monday too but I simply wasn't prepared to p...

    iPhone Microscope

When I read that there are microscopes you could buy to attach to your iPhone, my interest was piqued. I suspected it might be an expensive gimmick, but I then saw one on eBay for a little over a tenner, and since I had some PayPal credit left over a...

    Vini Vici etc

We went. We saw. It is very unlikely that our presence will be described as 'they conquered'. We spotted no-one from ePz. Perhaps they spotted us and quickly went the other way. ;):P Alison, who promised that she would be there, either was th...

    Project 365-186

On the way home from a night out with friends the car died. So this was the only opportunity to take a picture during the wait for the RAC. Fortunately it wasn't too serious. Bigger view

    Photo 365 - Number 143 - Flashmate

I've got a new mate - a Flashmate that is and after much deliberation opted for the funky green one :) Now of course all my photos will have to be perfectly exposed - I have no excuse. That said I'm sure I'll not use it all of the time but do pla...

    Photo 365 - Number 142 - Bag

I saw this bag in Lidl today - it's a fishing bag apparently but oddly enough I won't be using it for fishing kit. It came with a load of boxes for hooks etc but some will be used to house my ever growing bug collection. A bit of modifying intern...

    Spring Is In The Air

Or at least snowdrops and crocuses seem to think it is! In front of the windmill near me there's a lawn with a lot of crocuses, and a few snowdrops, and it's beginning to look really good. It may be a bit early to enjoy really nice spring weath...
