    Photo 365 - Number 143 - Flashmate

I've got a new mate - a Flashmate that is and after much deliberation opted for the funky green one :) Now of course all my photos will have to be perfectly exposed - I have no excuse. That said I'm sure I'll not use it all of the time but do pla...

    Photo 365 - Number 142 - Bag

I saw this bag in Lidl today - it's a fishing bag apparently but oddly enough I won't be using it for fishing kit. It came with a load of boxes for hooks etc but some will be used to house my ever growing bug collection. A bit of modifying intern...

    Spring Is In The Air

Or at least snowdrops and crocuses seem to think it is! In front of the windmill near me there's a lawn with a lot of crocuses, and a few snowdrops, and it's beginning to look really good. It may be a bit early to enjoy really nice spring weath...

Photo 365 - Number 141 - still with the anemones

I'm still messing about with the Anemones - trying to find smaller suitable vases for them but I'm not at all sure about this one :) Still, I'll keep experimenting - I've plenty of vases to choose from!

    Me and My Shadow

Well, not me myself, actually, I was speaking for this flower that I shot. Did I shoot it dead? No, it was looking a bit dead already - I left this bouquet too long, I should have bought it when I actually had time to do some serious photography. But...

    News Booth

I'm still trying out photo apps on my iPhone. Once again an app that no one will take very seriously, but it's fun - although only suitable for a very limited number of applications. News Booth allows you to quickly add a news format and headline...

    Photo 365 - Number 140 - Anemone

Photos taken today - two kiddies, me with not many clothes on and the Anemones - the Anemone won....... Not entirely sure I've done a very good job of it though - I'll contemplate it some more tomorrow and decide if it's worthy of going into my po...

upgrading lens from Tamron 70-300 to Canon L

Am in the market for a lens upgrade also and some of the older photogs here in Canada have suggested the Canon 400 4-5.6 usm as very razor sharp lens. My humble reasoning is that extra crisp glass allows closer cropping so the newer Canon 70 - 30...

I'm really looking forward to it

On Wednesday the 7th March, myself and a friend are traveling to the NEC, just to the south of Birmingham, to attend the Focus on Imaging exhibition. I went last year, alone. I clearly remember feeling that I was an intruder. I have on previous ...

    Project 365-185

More reflective fun. This time with my old Olympus Trip and a roll of long expired FP4. I had a lot of difficulty with this one trying to separate the background and camera/film roll. I hope it's come out ok. Bigger view here
